wonderbrass music & products gmbh was founded in 1999 by trumpeter, composer and arranger Torsten Maaß. wonderbrass music & products gmbh offers compositions and arrangements, specializing in big bands, combos and brass ensembles. In addition to this catalog of titles, custom made compositions and arrangements can also be commissioned.



 
Torsten Maaß was born in 1967 and began making music at the age of six when he took his first trumpet lesson. Soon after he founded his first jazz group, The Stormarn Jazzing Kids, furthering his education in various bands and orchestras. Working in groups of various genres, he has appeared with:

His first brass quintet arrangements were a product of his work with the latter group. Thus armed to begin professional life, he nonetheless failed to be selected for Lufthansa pilot training in 1987.

In 1991 Torsten Maaß completed his diploma in classical trumpet at the Musikhochschule Lübeck studying with Prof. Hannes Läubin. He then received a diploma for jazz performance (trumpet) at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg, studying under Lennart Axelsson and Johannes Faber. Along with engagements with various musicals, the Big Band of the North German Radio (NDR) and the RIAS Big Band (Radio Big Band Berlin), he plays in other groups:
